Wine Score: Les Valentines Le Caprice de Clementine 2016 Cotes de Provence

It's rosé season, and what better way to celebrate than with our Chairman's Trophy winner for the rosé category from Ultimate Wine Challenge 2017: Les Valentines Le Caprice de Clementine 2016 Cotes de Provence! The Provence region of France is the largest worldwide producer of pink wines and is considered the home of classic rosé, most often made from a blend of the local grape varieties mourvedre, cinsault, grenache and syrah, into elegant pale pink wines. Les Valentines exhibited all of the typical flavors and charm, which earned it 96 Points and an Ultimate Recommendation from the judges. A pretty pink shade and a pretty nose of wild strawberries and thyme to match. On the palate it’s bright red fruit and citrus with a woodland floral note on the finish. A well-structured rosé.
