Leo DeGroff began his career behind bars long before he was old enough to drink at one. By age eighteen he was assisting his father, cocktail legend Dale DeGroff at all types of cocktail functions, quickly discovering that he too had a passion for the craft of the cocktail. Together they produced specialty cocktails in volume at high profile events around the world. They also designed programs and conducted bar trainings for spirits brands and private clients- from Russia to the Caribbean, aboard cruise ships and at countless restaurants and events, making drinks for everyone from Bobby Flay to Oprah Winfrey.

Since then Leo has been overseeing cocktail programs at top culinary and beverage festivals including: Food and Wine Aspen Classic, South Beach Food & Wine Festival, Las Vegas Nightclub and Bar Show, New York Bar Show, the Telluride Wine Festival, James Beard Awards, Tales of the Cocktail, and the Manhattan Cocktail Classic

Leo spent several years working with top people in the industry to broaden his knowledge on spirits and cocktails, including Audrey Saunders at Pegu Club, and with Willy Shine and Aisha Sharpe at Contemporary Cocktails, until 2008 when he went to work for Steve Olson at AKA Wine Geek. As a key member of the team, he executes high profile cocktail events, implements beverage programs, and teaches aspiring beverage professionals around the world about spirits and cocktails.

Leo is also an integral part of the production team for  Beverage Alcohol Resource (BAR), an award-winning comprehensive training course in spirits and mixology  and  a graduate at the highest   level. He is currently working on his BAR Masters certificate.
