Tasting Note:
With a somewhat austere nose that benefits from a few minutes of air, this is a rum you can treat like whiskey whether neat or in a simple cocktail. On the palate the lack of added sugar is clear, highlighting a good bit of unobstructed heat and well-integrated wood flavor showing freshly glazed doughnut, caramelized sugar, and vanilla.
